This movie has generated lot of controversy over the depictions of prominent Hindu gods and Indian spiritual traditions. Jalandhar's State Mahila Congress vice president Nimisha Mehta has lodged a complaint against the lead actors, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar who are also the producers of the film, for hurting Hindu's religious sentiments and also sent a notice to them.The notice asked them to delete objectionable scenes and dialogues. Akshay Kumar has been given police protection.
